About the Science Vortex

The Science Vortex was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2019 to provide Verde Valley families, schools, and tourists with fun, interactive exhibits and programs that get children excited about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM= STEM + Art). The Science Vortex STEAM Center is located in Cottonwood, Arizona, but serves all Verde Valley communities including Sedona, Jerome, Clarkdale, Cornville, and Camp Verde. We aim to foster creativity, problem-solving, perseverance, collaboration, and innovation.

We currently offer weekly programs, visits by appointment, and special events. When the risk of Covid-19 decreases, we will offer regular open hours to the public. Admission will be $5 per person and free for our annual members. We intend on joining a network of science and technology centers which will allow Science Vortex members to attend other centers around Arizona and throughout the United States for free!  You can secure your family membership today by becoming a founding member. Founding members will receive a one-year family membership that commences when regular open hours are implemented.
